The Katsina state command and the state Government have rewarded three Katsina state youths for the bravery they exhibited in disarming and killing one of the bandits who initially abducted them.
The youngsters comprising of 2 boys and a girl were also rewarded for returning the AK-47 rifle and a machete they recovered from the bandits.
The presentation of the rewards was done on Tuesday evening inside the police commissioner’s office. The reward was void of crowd out of concerns for the safety of the youngsters.
The Katsina Commissioner of Police, Sanusi Buba, gave monetary rewards to the three youngsters on behalf of the state government and the Command.
The Command did not give the names of the youngsters and where they come from, he said it was for their own safety that he didn’t want to disclose their names.
According to Sanusi Buba, the 3 youngsters were working on the farm when 2 bandits came from no where and tried to abduct them, however, summing up courage, the trio took their supposed captors down, killing one with a machete in the process, while the other fled.
One of the boys sustained a head injury in the process of the incident. The trio, after the incident, went to the Police station and explained what had happened, they also returned the AK-47 and the machete.
