A 20 years old woman and a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun state, identified as Toluwalase Kembi, was allegedly killed by her friend in the Ikorudu area of Lagos.
News Hub Mag! gathered that the deceased, who lived with her parents on Orile road, Tabon Tabon, Agege, had gone to spend the night at Ledege area of Ikorodu on July 28, with a friend, Owolabi Yusuf, where she was allegedly killed and her body cut into pieces for ritual purposes.
The suspect, Yusuf, was apprehended in the third week of August by Police Officers of the Elere division, Agege, where the matter was first reported by the deceased’s family members.
During interrogation, Yusuf confessed to have killed Toluwalase, with the help of three other members, including a herbalist named Owonikoko, presently at large with a pestle.
Abimbola, sister of the deceased, narrating what happened told newsmen that her sister had returned home on July 28, then picked her belongings and told her she was going to visit a friend at Ikorudu.
She said when her sister didn’t come home by morning the next day, she became worried, she said she called her line numerous times, but no one picked, that was when she decided to report the case at the Elere Police station, Agege.
The Police then tracked her mobile phone to Ikorudu, arresting the suspect, Yusuf, who was in possession of the phone.
The corpse of the late Toluwalase hasn’t been recovered yet by Police men, however, the suspect, Yusuf also known as Alfa, said it’s only the herbalist who is still at large that knows where the body is.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident, adding that efforts were being intensified to arrest three other fleeing suspects.
He also said Yusuf will be behind bars and will assist the Police in apprehending the other gang members.
