The coalition of 16 governorship candidates in the just concluded Kogi gubernatorial election has frown at those calling for the cancellation of the poll.
The former candidates who made the remarks at a press conference held in Lokoja on Monday described the call as highway sentiment and barbaric.

The Chairman of the coalition, Dr. Sani Shaibu Teidi urged all political parties to play by the rule and think of what unites the state rather than what can divides the people.
The coalition said it has accepted the results of the gubernatorial election and pleaded with the people of the state to join hands with the new direction government in bringing the dividends of democracy to the people.
The group also called on those who lost out in the contest to work with the winner for accelerated development in the state.
“We condemn in totality the call for cancellation of the election by the civil society groups because of the enormity of waste and loss of lives that might occur in the course of a rerun.
“We appeal to the winner to be magnanimous in victory and prepare to mend fences for an all-inclusive governance. We are also appealing to all stakeholders to accept the winner for participatory governance,” the group said.
News Hub Mag! reports that the coalition congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello for the overwhelming victory at the poll.
