2023 general election: Cleric cautions colleagues on prophesying outcome

.Assures of hitch free election

The Kwara state chairman of Organization of Africa Instituted Churches (OAIC), SP/AP/Pastor Moses Ademola Popoola (JP), has disclosed why he does not subscribe to prophesying outcomes of elections.

He spoke with News Hub Mag! at the sidelines of the North Central Quarterly meeting of Organization of Africa Instituted Churches (OAIC), held at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, district headquarters, Murital, Ilorin on Wednesday.

According to him, most of the prophets who prophecied on results of elections actually heard from God but such messages are not cast in stone. He therefore stressed the need to apply wisdom in telling the people the mind of God on such issues.

In his words, “I don’t like commenting on results of elections because even when God speaks to you, most times, it is for private consumption.

“You see, God can never be contained and he belongs to all who seek him.

“Whenever you remember the story of King Hezekiah and Prophet Isaiah son of Amoz in the Bible you will understand wahat I’m saying.

“God told the prophet to go and tell the king that he would die and not recover from his illness, rather than contest this message with the messenger the king cried to God and almost immediately God told the prophet to go back and tell the king that 15years have been added to his years.”

The cleric stated that most prophecies are changed because those involved quickly turned to God contesting the message.

He however assured that the next general election would not cause any major chaos in the country.

“Yes, there might be some pockets of violence and all but God willing, there won’t be any major problem,” he assured.

News Hub Mag! reports that the theme of the meeting, ‘Oh Lord heal our land’ is taken from Chronicles 7:14.
