44 Boko Haram terrorists arrested, found dead inside cell

Following the murder of 92 Chadian soldiers by Boko Haram terrorists in an ambush that lasted for 7 hours, the troops of the country, led by President Idris Debby, reportedly killed 100 Boko Haram members, arresting many others.

According to the Chad Chief Prosecutor, Youssouf Tom, forty-four of the arrested insurgent during the recent operation against the sect were found dead in their prison cell.

Addressing the nation on Chad national television at the weekend, Youssouf said that the terrorists were part of the nabbed terrorists during the operation launched against the terrorist group.

He said, “Following the fighting around Lake Chad, 58 members of Boko Haram had been taken prisoner and sent to Ndjamena for the purposes of the investigation.

“On Thursday morning, their jailers told us that 44 prisoners had been found dead in their cell”.

Youssouf added that he had visited the scene himself and disclosed that investigation is ongoing to know what caused their death and other news surrounding the incident.

News Hub Mag! recalls that the victory of the Chadian military, led by President Debby himself, attracted praises from the international community, Nigeria inclusive. It was reported that over 1000 terrorists were killed with hundreds of weapons recovered.
