Amotekun: FFK replies Miyetti Allah Secretary

Femi Fani-Kayode has replied the National Secretary of Miyetti Allah, Hassan Saleh, who on Channels TV yesterday January 21st, described the Yorubas as the most prmitive in terms of political culture in Nigeria.

The former minister described the National secretary as a “Quintessential barbarian”.

Saleh was a guest on Channels TV to discuss the newly formed security outfit for the South West, Amotekun. He described the security outfit as ”an extention of the OPC which is known to have been used to commit heinous crimes against humanity during the time it was very effective.”

Making particular reference to FFK, Saleh said the proponents of Amotekun have been making a lot of hate speech as they canvass for the security outfit to be fully implemented

Saleh Hassan, the National Chairman of Miyetti Allah, has stated that despite the achievement of the Yorubas educationally, they are the most primitive Nigerians in terms of political culture.

According to Saleh, Miyetti Allah as a group sees Amotekun as an extension of OPC which has a history of violence.

“For us Amotekun that is the Yoruba tribal militia, it is one of the greatest threats of democracy we have now in place because you cannot empower an ethnic militia that has a history of violent crime because essentially what you have as Amotekun is OPC, Oodua Peoples Congress that has a history of heinous crimes and killings and the proponents of Amotekun has(sic) not hidden who their targets are” .

When asked to address his recent comment saying the South West might lose the presidency if they do not scrap Amotekun, Saleh said

“It is not a blackmail. Unfortunately with strong apologies to my South West friends, despite the education of the Yoruba people, they still remain the most primitive in terms of political culture. They are not tolerant to opposition”.
