Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, Chief Donatus Ejidike, on Tuesday paid a sympathy visit to the two female members of the Kwara Referees Council who were recently involved in an auto crash on their way from Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two referees, Bilikis Ali and Maryam Usman, who are presently undergoing treatment at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), sustained several degrees of injuries.

NAN recalls that Usman, however, lost her little child in the unfortunate accident.

Ejidike, who was guided to the hospital wards of the injured arbiters by the Chairman of the state referees council, Alhaji Tosho Mohammed, expressed shock, as he sympathised with them.

He prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.

Ejidike gave an undisclosed financial support to the victims, assuring them that his office would continue to monitor their level of recovery.

He also promised that his office would not hesitate to provide further assistance necessary to help them get back on their feet.

In his remarks, Mohammed thanked the pillar of sports and his entourage for identifying with the council in its present situation.
