COVID 19: Kwara First Lady calls for calm, adherence to preventive measures

In the light of the spate of the spread of the novel corona virus (COVID 19) the First Lady of Kwara State, Dr (Mrs) Olufolake Abdulrazaq has enjoined the general public to imbibe healthy and hygienic habits to stem the spread of the disease.

Mrs. Abdulrazaq reiterated that Nigerians can reduce the risk of contracting COVID 19 through adhering to measures such as washing hands frequently, using hand sanitizers, not touching the face and avoiding handshakes.

She added that large crowds should be approached with caution, social distancing should be adopted and people should endeavor not to panic in these trying times.

In the light of the travel ban by the federal government and the recent discovery of new cases in the country, the First Lady urged the people not to feel despondent, but should frequently contact their loved ones and take care of the elderly in the society.

She observed that though no case has so far been reported in Kwara state, she noted that the recent lockdown of activities in the state became necessary so as to discourage the spread of the deadly pandemic.

“It is advisable to keep healthy respiratory hygiene and if we feel unwell with symptoms of fever, cough and difficulty in breathing we should  avail ourselves of the toll free numbers provided by the government to get help.

“Parents and caregivers are also enjoined to keep their children and wards positively engaged during this period and adhere to advisories by the Kwara State Ministry of Health and other government agencies,” she said

News Hub Mag! recalls that the first Lady had earlier released advisories through the Ajike people’s Support Center.
