The Lagos State Government has dismissed reports that the lock-down in the state due to the Coronavirus pandemic has been lifted for the Easter celebration this weekend.
At a press briefing on Thursday, the state Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, said the lockdown is still in full force. He said it is only the Federal Government that can lift the lock-down order.
“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has not relaxed any lock-down. The lock-down is still on and we appeal to Lagosians to continue to obey the directive to continue to be responsible because that is the only way the experts have said we can fight this disease.

“The lock-down is still on. If it is going to be extended or relaxed, it is the business of the Federal government. The announcement is not going to be made by Babajide Sanwo-Olu because he did not impose it in the first place” he said.
News Hub Mag! recalls that President Buhari had on March 29th, 2020 announced a lock-down on the state as part of measures to curb the spread of the ravaging Coronavirus.
