Gunmen in police uniform invade gov Makinde’s hotel in Lokoja

Some suspected thugs allegedly dressed in police uniforms reportedly invaded the Sutoria Hotel where Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde is lodging.

Makinde is the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Kogi state Campaign Council.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that the hooded gunmen arrived the Suitorial Hotels, Lokoja, along Stadium Road, where the Governor and some members of the PDP Campaign Councul were lodged at about 12.50 p.m., shooting sporadically.

News Hub Mag! reports that some of the hooded gunmen scaled the fence of the Hotel and attempted to gain entrance into the main Hotel but the security operatives attached to the Governor and some residents of nearby buildings, however, resisted them, thereby causing a melee.

The state police Commissioner, Hakeem Busari who confirmed the incident on phone said the command had the information and immediately deployed officers to the place to clear it of the thugs masquerading as police officers.
