That religion is the opium of the masses is a very relevant aphorism, especially in this part of the world, but more frustrating is the fact that the supposed shepherds of the flocks are the very hyenas deflating the flock.
However, because God has a way of rubbishing those who tried to share his glory, these foxes in the flock are daily exposed for who they are, charlatans in need of the spotlight.
One of such is Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua better known as TB Joshua.
Speaking on the ongoing ravaging coronavirus epidemic, TB Joshua who is the leader of the Synagogue Church of all Nations, told his congregants on March 15 that the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, will go away by itself on March 27.
In his words, “I came out at the beginning of this year saying last year will end in March and the year will continue to be very fearful till this month [March]. This month, 27th, it will be over. By the end of this month, whether we like it or not – no matter the medicine they might have produced to cure whatever, it will go the way it came.
“If it is not a medicine that brought this to the world, medicine cannot take it out. It will go the way it came.”
However, in utter disregard to this prediction, as at 11:55pm on March 27, 2020, Nigeria recorded new cases of the coronavirus moving the number of confirmed cases from 65 confirmed cases as at 8:35pm on March 26, 2020 to 81 confirmed cases as at 11:55pm on March 27, 2020 with Enugu recording its confirmed case on the very day the TB Joshua said it would end.
As if that was not enough the pandemic continues to wreak its unholy havoc worldwide in disregard of the famed prophet’s prediction with China, the cradle of the pandemic recording five new infections.
Going by the scriptures, in Deuteronomy 18:22, this singular event is enough to prick holes in the credibility of the prophet who is well known for making world prediction but with many going south.
It would be recalled that this same cleric had predicted that a woman was going to win the presidential Elections in US and but a man, Trump, won.
While one awaits the response from TB Joshua, they always have a way of twisting predictions that fail, it is safe to believe that according to the scriptures that TB Joshua’s prediction is not of God but rather “Prophet (TB Joshua) has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him” (Deut. 18:22).
