IWD: Foundation stresses need for peace, identifies with women, entrepreneurs

In its bid to identify with women and entrepreneurs in the state, Noble People Foundation Inc has stressed the need for peaceful coexistence in the society.     

Designed to address conflict at every stage of life, the 4-day summit with the titled, ‘Global Conflict Resolution and Skill Acquisition Summit which held at Kwara State Banquet Hall, Opposite Govt House, focused on intrapersonal, interpersonal, regional and international resolution.

Speaking with newsmen at the end of the summit, the president of the foundation, Dr. Olanrewaju Abraham, stressed that there can never be any tangible development where there is no peace.

In his words, “We are here to acquire information because we believe that for any man to enjoy currency in this world you must be current. We are here to update our people with relevant information that will showcase them to the globe that will enable their businesses to be patronized across the globe but then after acquiring all this information we believe that without peace the information gathered is irrelevant.

“You can’t make use of the information where there is no peace and that’s why we are talking about conflict resolution. We want peace in homes so that we can have a type of mental balance to access relevant divine ideas that will help us to soar in this season of global economy challenges.”

He stressed that the program is organized to celebrate the international woman day and to empower entrepreneurs in the state on what it takes to be relevant especially in the digitally world.

“We have been connecting our people with the Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nation so that we can have access to the different kinds of opportunities that surround the United Nations. So that our people can tailor their products and business towards these 17 SDG of United Nations and be relevant to their world,” he said.

One of the speakers at the summit who is also the principal innovator, HETAVED Skills Academy for Innovations and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Amos Obi, also stressed the need for peace in the society and the family.

Dr. Obi averred that the SDG goals can be achieved through the right application of technology. He lamented that people rarely make use of their brain to creatively solve issues in the society.

He took the audience on a step-by-step process of how they can develop the capacity of their brain to be able to create new solutions that can solve the challenges of the world.

Some participants who spoke to News Hub Mag! on the occasion lauded the initiative which they described as a welcome development.

On her part, Dr. Amb. Sholanke Olajide Christiana who is the CEO of Global Blossom Life Foundation described the summit as a game changer which has helped opened her eyes to opportunities that abound in her area of specialty.

Also speaking another participant, Gideon Oluwatosin, called on youth to be more focused on creating employment rather than seeking for non-existent jobs in the society.
