Today another landmark history was created in Kogi state as the state former Chief of staff to the governor Chief Edward Onoja take oath of office as the Deputy governor of the state.
The event that started with the screening exercise by the state house of Assembly where the 25 members of the House unanimously agreed that the ex-chief of staff should just take a bow.
This led to the official swearing in at the historic Lord Lugard house that housed the office of the state Governor Alhaji Yahya Adoza Bello.
The oath of office was administered on the new deputy governor by the Chief Judge of state, Justice Nasir Ajana.
The Governor described the emergency of new deputy governor, Chief Edward Onoja as timely and well deserved because of his contributions to the buildup of a new Kogi state and the social development of the Kogi people.
“In Onoja I found a brother that transcends tribal and ethnics bigotry,someone that belief in the oneness and unity of human race with total confidence”.
In his reaction the new deputy governor, Chief Edward Onoja, thanked the state governor who he described as his twin brother and the people of the state.
Chief Onoja promised to worked hard to earn the confidence of his mentor, the state governor and the people that recommended him for the position.
