From Tunde Rahman, Lokoja
YIAGA Africa, a non-governmental organization has condemned in clear terms the widespread violence that characterised today’s gubernatorial and senatorial rerun election in Kogi state.
The body made the remarks at a press conference held at Riverton hotel which is also the venue of their election monitoring centre in Lokoja.

YIAGA indicted INEC for the delay in the distribution of election materials across the 3 senatorial districts.
The body called for cancellation of votes in polling units with cases of snatching of ballots papers and boxes, violence and disruption as it is in line with the spirit of transparency.
YIAGA also condemned the shameful vote buying observed within the vicinity and proximity of the polling units.
They encouraged security operatives to take pro-active measures by reprimanding individuals or groups perpetrating what it described as heinous crimes.
News Hub Mag! reports that YIAGA Africa enjoins the governorship candidates and their parties to show maturity and respect for the voting rights of others and warns that taking extra judiciary action will not be in the interest of the ordinary masses.
