.As NITP lauds Gov. AbdulRazaq for appointing members as perm secs

The Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, has disclosed that Kwara state will soon join the league of States with beautiful physical planning as the governor has taken the bold step of appointing professional planners as permanent secretaries.
The Olomu stated this when Executive and members of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Kwara State chapter paid a courtesy call on the new Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Mr Isiaka Yinka Olokoba mnitp, rtp and his counterpart at the Ministry of Special Duties, Yusuf Bolakale mnitp, rtp.


Going down memory lane, Oba Adeoti FTPL said he had proposed in 2009 that Planning authority should not be made full-fledged parastatal so that planners could serve in every and any other MDAs.
He lauded the present administration in the state for putting round pegs in round holes and called for continued support from all and sundry.

Earlier, the Chairman of the state chapter of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Mr John Tunde Olayioye mnitp, rtp had described the development as “a thing of joy and an epoch-making event for the institute in particular and the Town Planner profession in general”.

While affirming that their appointment is as a result of their track record and wealth of experience, he pleaded with them to be good ambassadors of the institute and their profession and not to disappoint the government and people of the state.
News Hub Mag! reports that the institute also thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for finding members of the institute worthy of such exalted position stressing that, “the institute is highly desirous of being partners in progress with the present administration in the state so as to ensure a well-planned environment in the state.”

Also speaking, Alhaji Muri Adi FTPL urged the new permanent secretaries to always consult stressing that quality consultation will aid them in moving faster and also accomplishing their tasks. In the same vein, Mr. Raphael Olaifa FTPL reminded them that much is expected of them as the present administration is planning ahead and urged them never to rest on their oars.

In his response, Olokoba appreciated the contingents and assured that all the issues raised by the Institute would be addressed promising that the present administration would give prompt attention to road construction to boost agriculture in the State.

Speaking in the same vein, Yusuf Bolakale expressed joy over the caliber of veterans on the entourage stressing that it is a sign that elders in the profession are solidly behind them and assured that he would not let them down.
