Kwara SWAN makes U-turn on registration procedures for 2020

The Kwara chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), has called on members who are yet to make payments for 2020 registration procedures to do so to the state chapter rather than the national body as earlier directed.

The state Secretary of the association, Olayinka Owolewa announced this in a statement a copy of which was made available to News Hub Mag! on Wednesday in Ilorin.

Owolewa explained that the new directive is to allow the chapter to collectively send the details of members to the national secretariat for ease collection of the cards when they are produced.

He said it will also allow Kwara SWAN to take stock of its members for data purposes.

The statement reminded members to make their N3500 (old members) payments directly to the state chapter while new members are to pay N5500 only for their registration.

He said payment and registration procedures which opened on Friday, Nov. 1, will end on Sat. Nov., 30.

Owolewa said the state executive took the decision to open registration for the 2020 for the month of November because it does not want a situation where members make payments and didn’t get their cards on time.

The statement explained further that failure of any member to comply will mean losing their membership for the year and forfeiture of any benefits from the association.

The Kwara SWAN Scribe, asked those who had made their payment to submit their teller to the secretariat with immediate effect.

News Hub Mag! reports that the association assured that everyone will get their 2020 ID Cards before the end of the year.
