The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi says the present administration will continue to leverage on the wisdom and advice of Elders in its drive and quest to move the State to the next level.

Mr Alabi stated this yesterday in Ilorin while receiving members of the Kwara South Consultative Elders Forum led by Chief Michael Oyeyipo during a courtesy visit in his office.

The Deputy Governor who spoke extensively on the need to imbibe our culture especially in the youths called on the elders to always be ready to advice and guide the government appropriately.

“We need the advice of our elders for the country to record the needed progress and move forward” he said.

Mr Alabi stated that the present government would do away with the oppressive culture and tendency which he explained had retarded the progress of the people and the State.

The Deputy Governor charged the people to respect elders and be humble just as he called on the elders to advice youth to shun drugs abuse and other vices.

He urged members of the Forum and the people to always pray for the success of the present administration.

Earlier the leader of the Forum, Chief Michael Oyeyipo called on the government to make equity, justice and fairness their watchwords adding that the last sixteen years had not been good to the District despite series of appeal to the then administrations.

Chief Oyeyipo disclosed that some local government areas were not carried along in the past especially in the distribution of amenities and appointments and expressed the hope that things would be better this time.

He charged the government to do its best to improve the State explaining that with dynamic Civil service things would be best.
