Kogi Tour: NISS hosts representative of Gov. Ododo

The Members and Executive Intelligence Management Course (EMIC) 17 of the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS), Abuja, was on a one week study tour of Kogi State, and part of the prerequisite is the formal presentation of their report to the Institute.

Hence the commandant of the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS), A. S. Adeleke _fsi+, mni., had requested the presence of the Executive Governor of Kogi State to grace the occasion. He however, hosted the representatives of the Kogi State Governor to the presentation program on Thursday, 9th May 2024.

Kogi State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara and Hon. Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Adeniyi Aderibigbe Helen; represented Kogi State at the event and were received with warmth.

Welcoming the representatives, the Deputy Commandant of the Institute and the Lead of Syndicate 3 expressed appreciation to Kogi State Government for the warm hospitality given them during their tour in the state.

Recall, the Syndicate 3, Executive Intelligence Management Course (EMIC) 17 visited Kogi State on a study tour themed: “Artificial Intelligence, Security and Emerging Economies in Africa: Challenges and Prospects.” which was anchored by top government officials and academia, where the SSA presented the overview of the study as the chief host, and the Hon. Commissioner for Innovation Science and Technology presented the keynote address on the theme.

Earlier, the Programme Lead had explained that the tour was aimed at developing a core of security experts with high level of expertise in intelligence and develop their capacity to formulate and implement security policies and strategies to enhance the economic and social development of Kogi State, Nigeria and Africa at large.

However, the presentation of the state study tour report on Kogi State saw to the overview report presentation which was done with analytical tool (SWOT); arriving with recommendations for further growth and development of most of the ministries, departments and parastatals in Kogi State.

Omodara, Adeniyi, however expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the reception accorded them by the Management of the Institute, noting that the Governor, Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo is ever ready to cooperate with them at all times especially on areas of security and technological advancement.
