Ahead of the national elections of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, the North Central SWAN on Friday in Ilorin endorsed the candidature of the incumbent President of the body, Honour Sirawoo for re-election.
The North Central gathering, which was declared open by the Pillar of Sports in Nigeria at the Conference Room of the Kwara State Sports Council also endorsed the candidature of Danjuma Mohammed as the Vice President from the zone. Danjuma is also returning to the position in the next election.
The six other Chairmen, Thaddeus Yilmen (Plateau), Abubakar Hassan (Niger), Onalo Mamodu Ijaya (Kogi), Comrade Akpera Nase (Benue) Cheke Emmanuel (Nasarawa) and Ndubueze Chidoka (FCT) also witnessed the election of the new executives in Kwara state, where Jimoh Bashir of The Herald Newspapers emerged new chairman of the Kwara state chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria.
