Oloyede assures of improved services in 2020 UTM examination

From Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi

The Registrar, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has assured of an upward review and upgrading of technologies employed in the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

He made this disclosure in a webinar briefing with officers involved in the examination, Monday.

He assured that the Biometric Verification Machine (BVM) are being upgraded, as we write, to forestall any form of malfunction in the remaining days of the examination; starting Monday, March 16.

Oloyede added that, two BVM can be used concurrently, to sign-in and sign-out to fast track the process.

He advised candidates whose fingerprints could not be captured by the BVM not to panic assuring that, although they would not be able to write the examination on their scheduled dates for not being screened, adequate provisions had been put in place to ensure fair treatment for all.

The 2020 UTM examination started across the country on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Although feelers from the various centres reveal a smooth conduct of the two sessions on Saturday, News Hub Mag! gathered that little delays caused by technical hitches were observed.

While expressing the commitment of the Board to ensure smooth conduct of the examination, he sought the cooperation of all stakeholders to make the aspiration a reality.
