A former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bisi Oyewo, has been confered with ICON leadership merit award of excellence by the Kwara South Youths Movement on Community Development and Child Abuse Eradication as the most outstanding role model.

Presenting the award to Senator Oyewo, the President of the Organization, Comrade Balogun Abdulganiyu disclosed that the awardee would be the 7th person to be so honored based on his track record and contributions to the society.

Comrade Abdulganiyu said “we appreciate the ways and manner Senator Oyewo has been carrying out his philanthropic and administrative style through adequate welfarism, harmonious working relationship with other colleagues, and staffs at his daily occupation.

“Furthermore, what seems to be most phenomenal about our amiable recipient is his unequaled hospitality and compassion for everyone who comes his way at all times; either seeking mentorship or other. He is always eager to assist and support irrespective of who you are, your origin, belief or political affiliation in line with his commitment to humanity,” he added.

He listed other recipients of the prestigious award to include Ambassador Dr. Mrs Olufolake AbdulRasaq, First Lady, Kwara State; Prof Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin; Mrs Bowofola Toye Lawal; Senator Lola Ashiru; Ambassador Solomon Rotimi Alabi and Hajia Hafsat Jummai Abdulrahman, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education.

Responding, Senator Oyewo expressed appreciation for the honour done him pledging not to relent in his service to humanity.

Senator Oyewo also charged the youth to be dedicated and determined to face challenges so as to succeed in life.
