Tourism: MINILS to construct multi-billion-naira International resorts, park

In the bid to attract tourists, generate revenue and support Infrastructural development agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari administration Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), is working with the private sector to construct an International Resorts and Park.

The Director General of MINILS, Alhaji Isaq Saliu Alabi made this disclosure recently while receiving Ghana based International Financial Consultant and Aides Facilitator, Mr Deji Akinade at the Institute in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Alabi said the management of the Labour Institute welcomes the proposal to construct an International Resorts and Park in order to give the Institution facelift and attract patronage from every part of the country and even beyond.

News Hub Mag! reports that Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin, is a specialized labour Institute owned by the Federal Government and has trained over 35,000 experts in the last 30 years.

The Director General hinted that the proposal for the resort and park will be presented to the Governing Council and Minister in Charge of the Institute, Festus Keyamo SAN for necessary approval. He noted that the project which will be implemented through Public-Private Partnership initiative will put the Labour Institute on the World Map and beneficial to the federal government, State, MINILS and the funding partners.

He assured the Financial Consultant and his team of commitment of the management towards the successful execution of the International Resorts and Park.

In his remarks, the Project Initiator, Oladehinde David Adekunle said it will cost over N2.5billion to implement the project.

The Project Initator explained that the project will have Multipurpose Hall, Seminar/Workshop rooms, Conference Centre, Amusement park, Swimming pool, GYM, Library/Archive, Game Arena and other modern entertainment facilities.

Speaking during the guided tour, International Financial Consultant, Deji Akinade leading the team sourcing for investors expressed optimism on attracting investors and grants to execute the project.

Deji Akinade, a Nigerian based in Ghana said he will use his wide network to ensure implementation of the project and securing necessary approval from the Federal Government.

He said the project is a win-win for all concerned: the government, Michael Imoudu National Institute of Labour Studies and the investors. He assured that the project would be segmented to achieve hitch-free implementation process.
