Two Men fighting each other crushed to death

Two male adults were crushed to death during a fight on the Oshodi-Oke inward Gbagada Expressway in Lagos State on Tuesday.

The incident happened in broad daylight, close to the LASTMA office in Oshodi.

Though the cause of the fight was unknown as at the time of filing in this report, it was learnt that the victims were hit and crushed by an oncoming vehicle.

One was said to have died immediately, while the other died a few hours later.

The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident and stated that the Nigeria Police, Lagos Response Unit (LRU) paramedics, and other agencies were the first responders on the scene.

At press time, he said, the agencies were waiting for the body to be evacuated by the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU).

Osanyintolu stated in his situation report that the operation was still ongoing at approximately 1.32 p.m.: “Upon arrival of LRT at the scene of the incident, two male adult casualties were seen on the ground.”

“One of the casualties was confirmed dead at scene.

“Further information gathered from the Police at the scene revealed that the two male adults were fighting on the expressway and were hit by a vehicle.

“The Agency’s paramedics team gave first aid to the other victim at the scene, who was then transported to Gbagada General Hospital for further treatment.

“LRT, LRU paramedics and NPF are the responders at the scene.

“LRT is awaiting the arrival of SEHMU to evacuate the dead victim. Operation ongoing,” he added
