Two remanded for murder, snatching motorcycles

Two suspected members of a secret cult are currently cooling their heels at the correctional service centre, Ilorin, for allegedly causing the death of one Wasiu Usman.

The main suspect, Odebode Abdulateef, allegedly conspired with one Akeem Alebiosu to carry out the dastardly act.

The police First Information Report (FIR) revealed that the suspects shot the deceased on his left knee and he reportedly died while receiving treatment in an hospital.

The police report further stated that the suspects, after shooting their victim, made away with two Bajaj motorcycles with registration number LRN429QY and AFN179VC belonging to one Suleiman Belgore and Joshua Geruran.

They were dragged before Magistrate Muhammed Ibrahim, of the state magistrate court for the offences of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide, armed robbery, being a member of secret cult contrary to section 97, 221, 1 (2) robbery & firearms act (special provision) CAP R11 law of the Federation of Nigeria and section 2 punishable under section 14 of secret cult and secret societies (Prohibition) law 2016.

News Hub Mag! reports that the magistrate, in his short ruling over the matter, remanded the suspects on correctional Service center while the matter was adjourned to 9th March, 2020.
