Chairman of the Kwara State Basketball Association, Dr. Joseph Adeyemo has restated the board’s commitment in ensuring Kwara had good preparations ahead of the forthcoming National Sports Festival tagged ‘Edo 2020’.
Dr. Adeyemo disclosed this after Kwara state male basketball team outscored Niger state 73 – 63 in their second game at the ongoing National Sports Festival North Central Zonal Elimination currently taking place in Ilorin, to secure qualification.
He revealed the state has a strong team made up of young players that will do the state proud at the National event.
He said that the association used the opportunity to expose some of its young players, most of whom he said, would be paraded at the 20th National Sports Festival in Edo state in March.
Dr. Adeyemo, who is also the Chairman of the Kwara Falcons basketball team confirmed the management of the club are leaving no stone unturned in terms of finding talented players to beef up the team.
Kwara will join Plateau state to fly the colours of the zone at the Festival.
