Youths warned against social vices as IEYDA empowers member

Nigerian youths have again been warned against social vices and other acts inimical to the progress and stability of the country.

The President of Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association, (IEYDA), Alhaji Abdullahi Babatunde Salaudeen gave the warning during the commissioning of a block making industry at Sobi Area, Ilorin.

The block making industry is part of the empowerment programmes of IEYDA and a member of Oloru Youth Development Association in Moro Local Government, Okanla Tunde Alaya benefitted the gesture.

The official commissioning was performed by the representative of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Prince Modibo Sulu-Gambari.

Salaudeen who spoke at the event through his vice who also doubles as the National Missioner of IEYDA, Ustaz Muritala Ottan emphasized the need for youths to be vanguards of positive change.

He said that the block making industry powered by IEYDA was to ensure self-sustaining of the beneficiary.

The representative of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Prince Modibo Sulu-Gambari, appreciated IEYDA for its efforts at liberating the people of the community from economic challenges.

He observed that efforts of Emirate Youth had gone a long way in reducing poverty among the people of the community especially women and youths.

He urged the association to remain focused and avoid any distractive tendencies in the interest of over all development of the community.

The National Publicity Secretary of IEYDA, Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunma attributed the achievements of the association to philanthropic individuals who always assist the association in cash and kind.

He urged the beneficiary to make judicious use of the gesture for him to become employer of labour rather than job seeker.

In his response, the beneficiary, Mallam Okanla Tunde Alaya appreciated IEYDA and promised to make judicious use of the gesture.
