Gobir celebrates birthday with children of Kwara Orphanage Home

The Special Assistant on Security to the Kwara State Governor, Hon. Moshood Gobir, earlier today celebrated his birthday with children of the Kwara state Orphanage Home located along pipeline road, adjacent CBN quarters.

Receiving the governor’s aide in the premises of the Home, the officer in charge, Mrs Yusuf A. Abibat, lauded the state governor for his commitment to the welfare of the children.

In her words, “most of the children here have been rejected by their very own parents and even relatives. It therefore glads our heart that the number one citizen of the state, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, takes their welfare with all seriousness.

“After assumption of office, the governor ordered a complete re-roofing of our buildings. As if that was not enough, he procured iron beds and mattresses for our children among many other things.”

She therefore disclosed that the gesture of the governor’s aide didn’t come as a surprise to her and her staff as, “he is simply following in the footsteps of our amiable governor who, despite all he has done for us he is never tired to do more.

“It is therefore our prayers that as Hon Gobir has decided to extend his benevolence to us on the occasion of his birthday he will never get tired of coming to our aid whenever we need his assistance.”

Mrs Yusuf however pleaded with the Security aide to help ensure the presence of a uniformed security personnel in the premises. “We have security on the premises but they are not uniformed, we will appreciate having a uniformed personnel on the premises,” she stated.

On the reason for coming to celebrate at the Orphanage Home, Hon. Gobir disclosed that, “the thought dropped into my mind about 6months ago and I decided to act on it.

“I have always loved children and this is an opportunity to show these little angles that, just like every other children, they are truly special too.”

He assured both the children and staff of the Home that they would have a uniformed security personnel soon pointing out that the governor is committed, not only to their welfare but also their safety as well.

News Hub Mag! reports that Hon Gobir who cut his birthday cake with staff of the Home also donated bags of semovita, garri, beverages and toiletries.

Highlight of the visit was a special prayer by young Abdulbasit, one of the children in the Home, who prayed passionately for the celebrant.
