Kastina Police arrest 13 years old boy for murder, banditry

The Police in Kastina State have arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly killing two men and armed banditry.

In the words of SP Gambo Isah, the spokesperson for the Kastina State police command, “The Command succeeded in arresting one Abdulkarim Mati, 13 years old, of Gidan Kaso village, Birnin Magaji LGA of Zamfara state, an errand boy to one Ardo Nashaware, a notorious bandits’ leader, based in Birnin Magaji forest.

“In the course of investigation, the boy confessed to have been taken from his parent under the guise of rearing of cows by Ardo Nashaware but instead he taught him how to operate AK-47 rifle to guard rustled cows and kidnapped victims in the forest.

“The boy who demonstrated skills in handling AK 47, also confessed to have been bullied by some elderly bandits, who provoked him, and as a result he picked an AK 47 rifle and shot to death two of the elderly bandits while they were asleep and escaped into town.”

In a related development, the command also arrested the duo of one Ibrahim Lawal alias Kabo 45 of Kabobi village and Mamman Lawal Shu’aibu 39 of Garin Runji Fulani settlement of Batsari LGA. SP Isah said, “The notorious bandits, cattle rustlers and members of kidnapping for ransom syndicate terrorizing Batsari LGA and it’s surroundings. In the course of investigation suspects confessed to have participated in several attacks on villages in Batsari LGA. “Additionally, they were the masterminds of the kidnapping of a Primary school Headmaster who was kidnapped some months ago along Ruma – Batsari road. They further confessed to belong to the camp one Dogo Bello a notorious bandit leader terrorizing Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kurfi and Dutsinma LGAs. Investigation is ongoing.

“Based on a tip off, the command succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of thieves that specializes in house breaking and theft of motorcycles terrorizing Katsina metropolis. Nemesis caught up with one Nura Salisu, Gambarawa Quarters, Katsina, a notorious thief and member of the syndicate, when he broke into the house of one Ibrahim Datti at Farin yaro Quarters and stole away his motorcycle Jincheng – Lucky, red in colour and unregistered.

“In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to have stolen over six motorcycles and used to take the stolen motorcycles to one Muhammadu Abdullahi, 29 of Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, Katsina, an expert mechanic, who specializes in painting and defacing of stolen motorcycles. “Furthermore, suspect Nura Salisu confessed to have stolen another motorcycle belonging to one Yaquba Rabi’u of Gambarawa quarters which he sold to the mechanic.

Also Police recovered one jincheng Rubber, unregistered, one boxer motorcycle unregistered and two plate numbers – KTN 357 UX and AGL 453 QL – Lagos and two Logo plate numbers in the house and premises of the suspect Muhammad Abdullahi.

“Another member of the syndicate, one Hassan Sani ‘m’ aged 22years of Dan bedi quarters katsina was also traced and arrested with motorcycle Jincheng Rubber, black in colour with registration number KAT 964 QA suspected to be stolen. Four suspected stolen motorcycles were recovered from the suspects.

“The Command succeeded in arresting one Muhammad Sani, ‘m’, aged 26yrs of Tudun Yan Shanu, Katsina and notorious armed robber. On 8/6/2021 at about 21:00hrs, suspect attacked one Rabi’u Hamisu ‘m’ aged 28yrs of Lantarkin Mallam Mudi, Katsina, stabbed him with a dagger and injured him on his right hand. He then robbed him of his Techno GSM handset. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing”.
